dance practice is gonna heat up over the next week, the competition is next saturday and 5 events doesnt sound that much, but looking at the schedule and the lack of practice, the stress sure is getting to me.

just a blink of an eye, and almost 2 months of summer break has passed. lots of things i havent managed to get done yet, such as meeting up with the smu people, planning a getaway, start splurging on the GSS and the list goes on…
its been totally hectic and crazy, dance practice 4 times a week for the dancesport competition at the end of this month (anyone who wants to watch just tell me the tickets are going at $30 a pop), and there still seems to be alot of techniques to be worked on..coupled with work 3 4 times a week, it does get a little stretched at times…
having been elected into the exco after dance camp, we havent really met up for meetings until recently and its starting to pick up, planning for next year’s events and strategies and so on…so basically it doesnt leave me with much time for a proper social life…starting from convocation, vivace, la salsa, latin feste, competitions, performances blahblah…its enough to mindboggle anyone..thats why i really admire jwo for his effort…
no diving this summer, so sad..wanted to get away for at least a beach resort break or sth…but that too, seems to be out of reach due to clash in schedules and the lack of willing people…its such a bitch…doesnt seem to be much for me to look forward to eh?
spent the past 2 days mainly staying home and lazing around, stoning, reflecting on what has been, and well i think i am pretty well recharged to face the next 2 months, probably gotta go hang out and play some beach volley or go club more before sch reopens and all these activities will then be kinda impossible to fit into schedule…im open for invitations =)

My summer just officially started, after the crazy week that was.
Tuesday was Sports Bash at Gothams. It went relatively well, the turnout was slightly better than expected and the music was good, so everyone had a great time. It helped that i had free drinks and all, especially after a long night of selling tickets outside. The only down point was the frigging male strippers! seriously it was a private party so i dont understand why the hell they were performing! shaking their asses and showing their thongs, seriously too much, even the girls were kinda disgusted after awhile, after all its usually the horny office ladies crowd that they cater too, the school girls have all the guys they need (read: the school boys), so why do they need a few more flabby angmohs stripping on stage?
wednesday to friday was dance camp. overall it was quite tiring, but it proved to be a great bonding session for both salsa and latin ballroom, at least for me, cos i managed to get to know quite a few of them better, and also got to know some people who i’ve never seen or talked to before. We had workshops as well, Argentine Tango, Waltz, Bachata, Salsa Hiphop etc and it was really fun exploring the different dance forms, and it also helps to give me more ‘feel’ when im dancing, cos you really got to listen to the music and sorta like ‘groove’ to it. the election speeches were held during the camp as well, and as per any election process, it was long drawn. Saturday was the announcement of the exco members and i am part of the new exco.
Sunday was the internal elections to determine the positions, and i was running for President, though without much confidence of getting the post, but no harm trying innit? So true to my expectations, i didnt get it but im glad Jwo Shyang got it cos i think he’ll do a wonderful job. I got the marketing post instead, and i guess its the next best post im suited for, so ill be doing my best and hoping to help recruit more guys into latin ballroom as well as raise awareness of Caderas. =) In the evening was Kim’s 21st bday, and a bunch of us all went down. Its supposed to be a costume party but its really difficult to find green tights cos i wanted to go as Peter Pan, so in the end i had nothing and had to wear this mickey mouse band that she gave me the entire night. Its damn cool to see Nic dress up as Jasmine and Martin as Aladdin, and there was Shrek there too. The downside was that there wasnt any alcohol, so it kinda didnt manage to keep us Caderas there, and coupled with the fact that many of them had to start internships today, most of us left at 10+. Met up with Jerry after that and had a few drinks and our usual guys chat, just before he flies off to Cambodia tonight.
Today was KTV day! finally. Met Iris and Marc and went to Kbox cine. it was seriously a bad start cos i just woke up barely an hr before we started and i was frigging sinusy and nasal, so i couldnt sing high nor low, but as it went on, things improved alot more and we had more fun. Bena joined us after her meeting in school and it was great fun jumping up n down the seats while singing. i think its lucky for Kbox that we are skinny people and the worst damage that was caused was probably a few loose springs in the sofa. Caught 200 pounds beauty with Iris after that. It wasnt as great and wonderful as Marcus so happily extolled and Kim Ah Sung wasnt THAT beautiful as he gushed, but the show was alright and shes quite hot (yes her body is -slurp-), overall it was worth it.
Tmr’s gonna be meeting at ACM to prepare for the Nepal talk this coming Friday, and hopefully i can squeeze out some time to hit the gym before returning the car to my parents. My motorcycle tyre is beginning to seriously bother me.
Happy Birthday Dad!

aights! today was the preview for the Namaste presentation next friday at the Asian Civilisations Museum. We kinda had a dry run with the school people who are interested to find out more abt Nepal and OCIP in general today, and i think my presentation went pretty good, for one which i did not have a full rehearsal and only went through the final version of the slides half an hr before the presentation, i think the crowd rather enjoyed themselves, albeit with much help from Jason’s wonderful photos.
Tmr is Sports Bash at Gothams and Wed to Fri is Dance Camp in school. Crazy week, but whos complaining? Caderas elections are coming up as well, and i gotta go for an interview tmr morning and if im chosen i gotta give an election speech. haha thats like how cool, im such a noob at this kinda thing. boo.
still looking for internship, waiting for OCBC to get back to me. sigh. if cannot i guess gotta return to serving drinks again, anything to get some additional income so i can enjoy my holidays more. initial Bangkok trip plans are down, sad, so i guess i gotta make another, i need to go on a goddamn spree!
